Artist Satement
Through my work I endeavour to make the invisible visible. To assist in the understandings of the illusionary world. Exploring what is behind the veils to see the space between the spaces. What I have come to know is that what we experience in our world is based on our projections from our beliefs and conditioning patterns, this in turn determines our perception.
Making art that assists in the opening of our 'Self' to the possibility that there is something more than what we think we know. Sharing the numerous options for what we call reality, how I see, hear, sense and know is directly related to my art. I produce work from this data received, glimpses of dimensions from the canvas that are the portals of potentiality.
Everything is energy and the structures, patterns and tones form the vibrations of the world. My passion is to make discoveries and share them via a creative practice and teachings. Ultimately moving us beyond ourselves for transformation through the intentional acts of bringing something into being with creativity.
The Intentional Creativity movement has informed current work, it has shown that my creative process is my spiritual practice, my relationship with the sacred. Creativity is my direct access to my source energy, it's like entering through many doorways to truth. Linking me into higher knowledge which is then expressed throughout the practice of creating art.
My work has focused on the geometry, frequencies or the energies of experiences. I produced images of complex patterns, not understanding fully at the time what was being created, I now know these patterns are the frequencies of experience. I have worked with Cymatics to produce visual images of speech and sacred sound such as HU and HUM. The outcome of the Cymatic imagery corresponded to my painting and drawing images. This information was coming through to show us that there is invisible data that informs our bodies, mind, and spirit constantly, on many levels and directly correlate to human behaviour in the world. For example 'why we do what we do, and why we behave the way we behave'.
The idea or concept of an art work informs the type of medium used. My current body of work is a series of acrylic paintings based on deep visioning and exploration of my interior landscape, past, present, future, and observing, spending time there looking at reflections of The Soul. My preferred medium was oil paint which I found best for the abstract, geometric expression. The making of Cymatic works was produced through photography of the sound waves traveling through liquids. Work such as the Power (Chi) Generators are produced using copper, perspex, and resin. They are small sculptures of sacred geometry embedded in a medium to conduct energy. They are used for meditation, clearing spaces, energy work, and absorption of particular frequencies. The medium used in my work varies and is dependant on the best expression of the concept for the work.
My creative practice is the vehicle used to assist people to awaken via a deep human experience of sacred work, a journey to a deeper discovery of 'Self'. I use art and creativity as a means to connect, expand, empower, and to assist in the experience of the invisible world of the field.

About the Work- How to connect the dots
About Me |
Witnessing the extremes of human experience as I have moved through the world has led to my inquiring into 'why do people behave the way they do'? I have a drive to understand the human condition.
I have Bachelor Degrees in Anthropology, Social Work, and Visual Arts. Going on to work in Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury, Homelessness, Alcohol and Drug Addiction and Foster-Care. My specialty is human behaviour, why we do what we do. In particular for those who have experienced trauma and neglect. Until recently I worked as a Clinical Social Worker, Consultant and Therapeutic Specialist in a Foster Care system. This work has directed my area of thought to look at "what the body is telling me?" Behaviour is a language in itself and if we break it down to look at the body we can gain immense insight into what is happening for a person and why. Due to the limitations of talk therapies when working in the field of complex trauma, I sought other methods such as art and play therapy. Stumbling across the powerful results of sand-play therapy- I went to study Dora and Martin Kalff's teachings in Switzerland with lessons at the Jung Institute. To further support this inquiry I gained a qualification in Sensory Motor Psychotherapy (Pat Ogden's Training). SMP looks at the impact on the body when neglect and trauma are experienced and provides interventions that resource the body to work the traumatic experience through the physical systems. There are gaps in many of the psychological models, therefore I integrated the arts and sciences, investigating the quantum idea of the holographic universe, producing artworks that attempted to make visible the invisible. These inquiries led to the world of energy, I went on to study numerous energy medicine modalities (Kinesiology, Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) CP, Integrated Therapeutic Alignment (ITA) with the Stillpoint Institute (Perth, Australia) eventually becoming an energy medicine teacher. I have been the artist in residence for The Stillpoint Institute (Australia), producing their DVD / CD covers and the Power Generator sculptures made for the Mahat meditation and energy work. My goal is to assist people to live well, bringing together the social science, energy understanding, science and the arts into new modalities. I found the Intentional Creativity Movement and undertook the courses, going on to complete the teachers qualification. Through Intentional Creativity training, combined with my past inquiries, my work offers a complete experience (mind, body, spirit) to enable transformative growth and unified education. |
